The Other Part
Entertaining in a Strange Town
Often we find ourselves entertaining in a strange town with no idea of where to go. Ask a salesperson who lives locally to fill you in. Whether it's a restaurant, bar, club, casino, or a lap dance you need ~ someone knows the best place to go. It's usually a Salesperson !!
Contrary to popular belief many Salespeople find entertaining tough. As ever it’s worth spending a little time in preparation if you want to get it right. Ensure you ask enough questions prior to your evening out to gauge topics of interest and similarly any ‘no go’ areas. If you find yourself playing ’20 questions’ across the dinner table it can make some people uncomfortable.
Always check the restaurant up front if you haven’t been there. It can also make a big difference if you get the chance to ‘pop in’ and meet the head waiter rather than arrive ‘cold’. Often you will be able to pick your table and guarantee a warm welcome when you arrive.
One other thing, order your taxis up front. I once spent a very pleasant evening with a very important customer only to have it slightly spoiled as we waited an hour in the rain for a Taxi when the restaurant had closed!!
